NATURE
Nowe Miasto Lubawskie commune with a population of over 8400 inhabitants is located within the Copernican Route, in the southwestern part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, covering an area of 138 km2, which is characterized by an extremely varied terrain. As much as 65% of Nowe Miasto Lubawskie commune occupy protected landscape areas - Skarliński Protected Landscape Area, Protected Landscape Area of the Lower Drwęca Valley and Protected Landscape Area of the Wel River Valley. From 1994, the whole commune was included in the Green Lungs of Poland area. It also has Natura 2000 areas - Drwęca Valley, Ostoja Radomno, and Kakaju Valley. Therefore, the natural environment is rich in forest areas, which cover 19% of the commune's area.
The Drwęca River, which is a nature reserve, flowing within the commune for a length of about 9.5 km, is its hydrographic axis. Rivers and small watercourses draining into it commune - Wel, Groblica, Radomka, Skarlanka. The lakes cover about 5% of the commune area - the largest are Skarlińskie and Radomno. Tourists and residents like spending time on the shores of lakes.

TRADITION AND CULTURE
The Nowe Miasto Lubawskie commune is a commune with tradition. At every step you can find here memorials and monuments, which are a testimony of a rich and glorious past. Each of the 16 villages can offer remarkable places. The pearls of local architecture, both sacred and secular, are certainly the churches. Sacred Heart of Jesus in Radomno, church of St. Bartłomiej in Skarlin, manor in Bratian, railway station in Jamielnik, or the ruins of the gate in Łąki Bratiański. For lovers of art and history, numerous chapels, statues and sculptures, old huts, manor houses and manor complexes that have permanently entered the landscape of the Lubawa land may also be pleasing to the eye. There are also many monuments here, places of special patriotic value - among others Memorial to the Victims of Hitlerism on the monument square in Nawra and Brigadier General Adolf Mikołaj Waraksiewicz in Mszanowo.
There is Commune Cultural Center in Mszanowo which is the seat of the commune authorities.Commune Cultural Center constantly offers participation in interesting events and experiments. During the year around 100 events are organized. The largest include: Bratiańska Cabaret Night (July / August), Commune Harvest Festival (September), festivities and picnics as part of the celebration of Family Days (May / June), Midsummer Night at the lake in Radomno (June), Independence Day celebration - with accompanying running and cycling rally (November), commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance for Cursed Soldiers (March), anniversary of the outbreak of World War II at the monument near Nawra (September), Christmas Eve for Elderly and Lonely People in Bratian, Santa Claus day and Christmas Market (December).
The inhabitants of the commune are very active, so there are plenty of sporting events throughout the year - especially in the age of fit fashion. Tylicki Race and Pacółtowski Race, MTB Cycling Race, Bicycle Track in the Footsteps of Ulaan Waraksiewicz, sport and fire competitions, kayaking, zumba marathons, dance and fitness marathons and matches, where the most common has been cultivated for almost 30 years - the match Knights vs Married in Gwiździny . Theater and theater performances, outdoor film screenings, tournaments - scribble, checkers and dance games, as well as active charity actions - e.g. the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity - are arranged.
DEVELOPMENT
Communes as the smallest and at the same time basic administrative units in Poland should be guided in their actions primarily by the principles of ethics and create the best conditions for the development and establishment of both small and large economic and investment projects.The commune Nowe Miasto Lubawskie is such a self-government that cares for the interests of local communities, creating the best living conditions for its residents in the area of business development and investment.
One of the priority activities of its authorities are continuous efforts to improve road and water and sewage infrastructure. Today, the commune enjoys kilometers of extensive water supply networks, 13 village clubhouse - still being improved and retrofitted so that they serve the residents and all those who use them satisfactorily; 6 modernized schools and 6 libraries, renovated sports fields - of which the most attractive is a multi-functional pitch with long jump and running track in Jamielnik and the ORLIK 2012 sports facility in Bratian; fire trucks, improving the intervention of volunteer fire brigades.
